For this project, we were assigned a screenplay to make a promotional poster with a metaphorical element for the Met Philadelphia. Utilizing Illustrator and some photoshop, I created my poster drawing a few different elements from the show it is promoting. First, the butterfly represents Tommy, and the growth and change he undergoes throughout the story. The butterfly is made of a pinball paddle and pinballs for the antenna, symbolizing the Pinball Wizard Tommy is. The wings of the butterfly are stained glass, referencing the religious following Tommy gains later in the story. On the top corner of the right-wing, there is a part of the wing that is shattered to represent the track "Smash the Mirror". In my iterations, I played with different color schemes and some elements of psychedelia and photographic pinballs and paddles.
